Great Lakes Carpentry is proud to be members of Green Built Wisconsin, but more importantly we are proud to build our homes so that they meet the stringent requirements for certification by the program.
When combined with an Energy Star Rating, you can be assured that your home will be energy efficient and has been built with the environment in mind throughout the process.

All Green Built and Energy Star Rated homes must undergo a rigorous inspection of the building site, landscape conservation and stormwater management, insulation and air sealing, glazing, mechanical systems, lighting and electrical systems, exterior materials, indoor air quality, structural frame, roof and floors, to name a few. So stringent are the codes for both Green Built and Energy Star Ratings that the very first log home built to these specifications wasn’t built until 2007 – by Great Lakes Carpentry and our affiliates, Timberlog Works and Butternut Creek. Now, we ensure that all of our log and timber frame homes are built to pass both Green Built and Energy Star ratings.
